DIRECTV SUCKS

Let me rephrase that ....DirecTV's customer service sucks. I'll make a long story short:

I bought a DVR from walmart (200 bucks) and then activated the directv dvr service (Already had directv) They send me notice a month later saying if I cancel the service they are going to charge me 300 bucks if I don't return the dvr equipment. I called and tried explaining I bought the DVR myself not through them. They continually read lines from a book stating a totally seperate answer to the question I asked.

I was disconnected four times while on hold. Four of the six people I tried to talk to spoke less english than a three year old child. Over and hour on the phone.

My basic question was "If I keep directv and cancel the TIVO portion why do I have to return my recorder bought with my own money to you". Their answer: we sold the equipment to you at a discount and therefore you need to return it. I again explained I bought it for full price at WalMart and never got any type of rebate or discount. She said WalMart sells for them and then notifies them when the equipment is purchased.

I asked "How come my bill doesn't show the HD receiver I bought in June or the (i lied on this one) second DVR I bought for my girlfriend for Christmas. She was silent for a while then backpedalled and said "Oh it shows when you activate it"..."the only ones your bill will show are the ones we provided to you directly from DirecTV".

therefore back to the original question: she finally agreed that I don't have to return the DVR even though I have two notices say I do if I cancel the service. Then changed the entire answer to "if i cancel the entire directv service within two years I have to return the equipment or pay 300 bucks"...but still my bill says "One year contract of DirecTV" and a two year commitment on the DVR....

They still really don't have any answer but I wrote it all down and will now call as a "new customer" and find out what they tell me.

At least the last one spoke english...all the other ones were calling me Meeester Prank Showw....and Tank you foder your beeesnus.

WoooHooooo

I finally got my fast internet back...well...faster than the dial up I was stuck with for the last six months. It was so slow I was getting ready to send my web page requests via the postal service.

Our cable company ran the line down the road but didn't run the cable up people's driveways. Six houses share the driveway with us and we went to the company asking for the cable to be run to all the houses. They continually blew us off so they lost seven customers that would have been most likely paying an average of 100 dollars per household for cable and internet.

Now the phone company finally came through and installed the updated equipment for us to have DSL.

Tonya

Okay,

Tonya escaped from the closet I had her held captive in. She somehow managed to get to the computer and start a blog before I tazed her and got her subdued.

But since she showed so much determination to get loose and be free I figured I would let her keep the Blog thing on here.

If she gets loose again she can post more. (I super glued her feet to the floor....bwahahahahah)

here is the address...

Back from Cancun...four days before the hurricane

Cancun before the hurricane... we left four days before the hurricane hit.

This is the typical sunrise every morning from our balcony.

Our room had a complete view to the north, south and the ocean. The room directly across from us is a mirror image of our room, hottub on the deck and all. (It's the uppermost deck with the enclosure around the hot tub.)

The pool is huge, it's hard to show here but there are three sections. (I took this photo abound 7 am so now one would be in it.)

my scanner sucks....please donate for a new one.

Ever since I rebuilt my computer I lost the ability to use my trusty scanner (no new scsi card to support it in winxp)
so now I'm forced to scan with a cheap one until i either rig up my old good scanner or fork over more than 200 bucks to get one with similar qualities.
but since mommy dearest keeps harassing me to scan something and put it on here, i scanned two photos from hawaii...

Mail

As of today I have received over five hundred good luck e-mails from my mother. I also see in the address bar most of you have received these same mails.

I'm starting to lose faith in the system, I have yet to win any amount of money....or even a free ticket on the lotto. I also haven't heard of any others associated with these mails winning.

Does anyone know why it isn't working. It says it promises good luck to come soon and I have been waiting for about three years for that stupid lotto ticket to hit. I'm going to start putting the money back into my retirement if I don't hit in the next five years.

After Second Major Hurricane In Gulf, Bush Looks For Receipt To Louisiana Purchase

By Lee Camp:

After two major hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico in a matter of weeks, President Bush announced at a press conference Monday that he's been looking everywhere for the receipt to the Louisiana Purchase. Bush insists it's only a matter of time before he finds it and America can get a refund from the French.

The Louisiana Territory was bought from the French by former President Thomas Jefferson. The territory included just about everything between the Mississippi River and the Rocky Mountains.

President Bush stated that he was told where the receipt was when he first moved into the White House but that it's been a long time since then. He doubts he would've thrown it out, and he says he has yet to check the pockets of the pants he wore last Thursday.

What's not yet established is whether the French would even honor a receipt from 200 years ago, especially in light of the tense relations America now has with the French.

When pressed for an answer about this concern, Bush said, "If that situation were to arise, I would ask to speak with a manager. The fact is they sold us a piece of crap. That land is not worth the $15 million we paid for it because it's frequented by hurricanes, land slides, earthquakes, forest fires, smog, bugs, and let's not forget Mexicans. When we bought that land we were not told that Mexicans would be coming. It's a defective product. The French scammed us, and I want my 15 big ones back!"
