Back from Cancun...four days before the hurricane

Cancun before the hurricane... we left four days before the hurricane hit.

This is the typical sunrise every morning from our balcony.

Our room had a complete view to the north, south and the ocean. The room directly across from us is a mirror image of our room, hottub on the deck and all. (It's the uppermost deck with the enclosure around the hot tub.)

The pool is huge, it's hard to show here but there are three sections. (I took this photo abound 7 am so now one would be in it.)

So, you take a good looking woman with you and you take pictures of the hotel balconies? Yep, you never change.

You guys should try the suncoast. South of Cancun on the mainland where the ferry goes to Cozumel. It's beautiful and you can easily get to the ruins and Xel Ha. Is this the time of year you go every year?

Playa del Carmen is where I stayed. I loved it. It's supposed to be more built up now with bigger resorts to the south. I haven't heard of Akumel. That's south of Cancun? I'll have to check it out. I'd love to go back. The food was great, the diving was great, the people were great, the mixed drinks sucked (warm and funny tasting) but the beer was fine.
